How to choose the right ink for HP Photosmart 7660v (and avoid common issues) If your printer prints faint text, colours look washed out, or the printer reports an “ink low” message sooner than expected, the issue is often related to cartridge choice, storage or infrequent use. The HP Photosmart 7660v is a dependable printer, but like most inkjet models it benefits from regular printing and properly installed cartridges. Our practical tips for choosing and using an ink cartridge for HP Photosmart 7660v: - Match the cartridge number – the most common are HP 56 (black), HP 57 (colour), and optionally HP 58 (photo). If you search by codes like Q3014A or C6656AE, you’ll land on the correct options.
- Pick a pack size that matches your printing habits – occasional printing: single cartridge or standard multi pack; frequent printing: 2-pack options reduce downtime.
- For photo printing, consider photo ink – adding HP 58 (Foto) helps with smoother gradients and more natural photo tones.
- Reduce clogging risk – if you print rarely, run a small colour print once in a while to keep inks flowing well.
- Installation matters – remove protective elements carefully and ensure the cartridge clicks into place; many “not recognized” messages are simply caused by imperfect seating.
