How to choose the right ink cartridge for Canon Pixma iP8700
When selecting ink for Canon iP8700, start with the cartridge symbols used by this model: PGI-550 (black) and CLI-551 (photo black, cyan, magenta, yellow, grey). Then decide between Original OEM and compatible options:
Original OEM ink cartridge – Canon-branded cartridges for users who prefer manufacturer supplies and consistent results out of the box.
Compatible ink cartridge – a cost-effective alternative. Our compatible cartridges from DrTusz.pl are designed to deliver print quality that is as good as original cartridges, while helping you significantly reduce printing costs.
Practical tip: if you print frequently, consider XL versions (e.g., PGI-550 BK XL or CLI-551 XL colours). They usually mean fewer replacements and a better cost per page—ideal when you rely on your ink for Canon Pixma iP8700 for regular photo sessions.
Common iP8700 user issues and how the right ink helps
Many Canon Pixma iP8700 owners search for solutions to everyday printing problems. Choosing a proven ink cartridge for iP8700 and replacing colours on time can help prevent:
faded prints or colour shifts – often caused by an empty or drying cartridge; replacing the correct CLI-551 colour restores balance,
missing lines/banding – frequently linked to low ink levels; fresh cartridges and a nozzle check usually solve it,
unexpected “ink low” messages – when printing intensively; keeping a spare PGI-550/CLI-551 set (especially black and the most-used colours) avoids downtime,
black-and-white photos lacking smoothness – the grey cartridge (CLI-551 G) is key for better neutrality and transitions.
